Stud Poker

How to play

Caribbean Stud Poker is a casino table game with rules derived from five-card Stud Poker. However, unlike standard poker games, Caribbean Stud is played against the house rather than against other players. There is no bluffing or other deception. The objective of the game is to beat the Dealer's hand (through poker hand rank).

How does player beat the dealer?

If player's hand rank is higher than that of dealer's or if the dealer's hand doesn't qualify.

How does player lose to the dealer?

If player's hand rank is lesser than that of dealer's or if player folds after placing the ante.

Rules

The actual rules of Caribbean Stud poker are simple. After player places the ante bet, dealer will deal out 5 cards, face up, to the player.

The dealer will then deal 5 cards to themselves with the first card face up and the next four face down.

The player decides if he/she would like to call- place an extra bet (2x the ante bet) on top of player's ante bet.

If player decides to call, dealer's card reveal.

If player decides to fold, he/she will lose the ante bet and will have to wait until the next hand is dealt to play again.

How does the dealer qualify?

To "qualify" their hand the dealer MUST have at least Ace & King or Higher in their hand.

The lowest possible qualifying dealer hand would be A-K-4-3-2.

If the dealer can't "qualify" their hand and player has made the call, player will get the ante paid out 1-1. Player's call will be pushed-returned to player.

If the dealer qualifies their hand, player has made the call and player's hand beats the dealer's hand, player will win. The following will be the payout-

Ante bet paid out 1-1

Call bet paid out according to the pay-table with a sliding scale for higher hands

Payouts

Generally player can expect to be paid out 1-1 for a pair and up to 100x for a Royal Flush. See an example table below:

Royal Flush pays 100 to 1

Straight Flush pays 50 to 1

Four of a Kind pays 20 to 1

Full House pays 7 to 1

Flush pays 5 to 1

Straight pays 4 to 1

Three of a Kind pays 3 to 1

2 Pair pays 2 to 1

1 Pair or less pays 1 to 1 (even money)

The payout table will vary slightly depending upon which individual Caribbean Stud poker table and casino (live or online) player plays at.

If the dealer's hand is higher than player's hand, player will lose both the ante bet and call.

If player's hand and the dealer's are exactly the same all bets are a push and returned to the player.

Jackpot

To be eligible for the Jackpot, a player must opt in specifically, while placing the Ante bet.

How to Play Jackpot:

1. To participate, the player must switch on the Jackpot option when placing the Ante bet.

2. The Jackpot bet requires a fixed stake amount, independent of the Ante stake, and is displayed next to the Jackpot switch. This Jackpot stake is added on top of the Ante stake, when the player places the bet.

3. The full Jackpot amount available to be won is displayed above the Jackpot switch.

4. The Paytable shows the qualifying hand conditions and corresponding payouts for the Jackpot. Depending on the hand, payouts may be either a fixed amount or a percentage of the displayed Jackpot. The outcome can range from no win up to the full Jackpot amount.

5. Jackpot payouts are independent of the hand result. If the player's hand qualifies per the Paytable to win a Jackpot payout, they will be awarded the relevant payout according to the Paytable conditions, regardless of whether the player wins or loses against the dealer.

Player's Ante bets would be invalidated and refunded if a Call bet is not placed for more than 60 days.
